Reconstruction of Petroleum Products Jetties, Apapa

The old 3No.  Finger Jetties were built in 1955 and were no longer serviceable.  The Project was to reconstruct the 3No. Jetties to take a maximum design ship of 35,000 DWT.  The jetties were to be fitted with Loading arms.  The complex comprises the 3No. Jetties (PWA, NOJ and BOP), Auxiliary Buildings (NNPC Control Room, Marketers Buildings, Fire Fighting House and Pump House).  The Jetties and Buildings are serviced by 1.0km 7.3m wide carriageways.

The project is an EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) Contract and our duties were:

· To serve as the leading consultants on the project

· To serve as the Civil/Structural/Marine Consultants

· To provide frontline engineering design

· To check the detailed engineering design as done by the contractor

· To approve the design, if adequate, for construction

To supervise the Contract Works during execution
